We have prepared this list of upcoming animated movies by Disney while also keeping in mind that it also has a line up of movies coming from Pixar Animation. Although trailers are already out for majority of upcoming Disney movies. We will speculate how they will perform against upcoming animated movies not from Disney.

This year Disney proved it’s dominance with 6 billion dollar plus movies and this excludes the first Spiderman to cross 1 billion mark. And out of this 3 were animated movies by Disney including movies from Pixar. And other 2 were the live adaptations of Disney classics. Delivering 2nd highest grossing animated movies Incredibles 2 (grossing over $1.243 dollers)in the start of the year and like the icing on the cake Disney has started this year with Frozen 2 becoming highest grossing animated movie ever with a collection of $1.325 billion.

These facts speaks the prowess of Disney and the quality it offers when it comes to Animated movies apart from the facts that how many classics it owns and how many sequels it can produce However this year 2020 will be a bit difficult for Disney with not so many sequels in its lineup for 2020. We will watch to which extent it can hold it’s ground which it has gained last year. So I think chances are fair for other studios to dominate Disney this year.

Well that depends on this lineup. So here is the list of upcoming animated movies by Disney in 2020

3. Bob’s Burger:the movie

Release date- 17 July 2020

Directed by Loren Bouchard (director of original show)

This movie will be the second film based on the Fox animated series of the same name after the Simpson’s Movie 2007 as a wikipedia’s page would say. But speaking individually I have not watched the series but I am excited for this movie with Disney’s next year on stake.

Bob and Linda Belcher run a beach town burger restaurant with their three quirky kids, Tina, Gene, and Louise. Bouchard tweeted in February that the film will explain the origin of Louise’s ever-present pink bunny ears, and voice actor Roberts says the film will be “very musical,” as many Bob’s Burgers episodes are.

4. Raya and the last dragon

Release date- 19 November 2020

Directed by Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins

This movie will be the 59th animated feature from Walt Disney Animation Studios. And the first original film after Moana which was released in 2016. It is written by Malaysian writer, so it would obviously have a eastern influence and it may prove to be something refreshing from Walt Disney Animation Studios.

Until only the first look of the movie is officially released with a official synopsis Raya will be an epic fantasy adventure with southeast Asian themes, set in a realm called Lumandra, described as “a reimagined earth inhabited by an ancient civilization”. Five clans form the land of the dragon, and Raya is determined to find the last dragon.

In conclusion the Disney lineup for this year looks promising but doesn’t seem to match the releases in 2019. And Illuminations will be back with a Minions sequel this year and to know more about the upcoming major Click here to know more
