It’s time to wrap up the decade with some best nominees for best animated movies of decade. This decade is over with setting the standards higher for the next decade both in terms of the box office revenue and quality. This decade was all about breaking records and new standards. The mainstream studios like Pixar and Disney has proved them so far with record breaking hits throughout this decade, and plenty of international studios like lykaa productions and Ghibli studios continues to delight us throughout the decade.

Another decade of dominance by DC movies over the superhero world, yes you heard! it right because Marvel gets completely dominated by DC when it comes to animated movies.

8. ParaNorman 2012

Directed by Chris Butler, Sam Fell

This is our first pick coming from the Lykaa production, a must watch stop motion animated movies. Arguably the best movie of decade but it’s the best horror animated movie with a strong claim. It is beautifully animated and has a strongly written plot. It has a creepiness which can frighten you but chances are few when you are a adult, but you will surely get the creepy jokes of dead.

The plot follows a boy who can see the dead, a freak amongst the children meets his deranged uncle. A mystery of a centuries old curse unfolds and he must try and save the towns against the zombies, witch, and the adults of the town

7. Batman under the red hood

DC animated movies do have a strong fan base and a big arsenal of hits but most of the time it’s not able to attract a wider audience due to a tighter budget and a limited release. However this movie tasked to adapt the most darkest plot in the comics achieved so much and deserves to be on the list.

This movie so deeply question the batman’s morale and his emotions. We all know that Batman would not kill the joker for him he is just a ill person with medic condition. This movie ask the question what would prove to be enough on the stacks to force Batman to kill the Joker

The plot follows the appearance of a man going by the name of Red hood in the gotham crime scene, he knows all the moves of joker and starts wreaking havoc on Gotham with his every move and clearing the crime with efficiency of Batman, and old nemisis of Batman reappears to taunt him.

6. Rango 2011

Directed By: Gore Verbinski

This time the director and actor famed for the pirates of the Caribbean flick tried to put reptiles in the cowboy boots in this amazing Western styled animated movie. And this proved to be an attempt worthy to be included in this list.

It’s a laugh riot with some serious thoughts for the adults. A pet chameleon voiced by Jonny Depp who is in a identity crises accidentally lands into the rough west world town of Dirt full of bandits, as a cowboy and he must be a badass gunslinger and must protect this helpless town.

5. The Isle of the dogs 2018

Produced and directed by Wes Anderson

It’s an internationally co produced stop motion animated movie tells the story of ATARI KOBAYASHI, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies to Trash Island in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

4. Kubo and the two strings 2016

Directed by Travis Knight

With every movie Lykaa production proved it’s existence and growth in the Disney Pixar dominated world but with this movie it broke the ground with visually stunning animation drawn to visualize stunning action scenes and beautiful Japanese origami packed with an amazing plotline of a Japanese folklore. It was a landmark for the stop motion animated movies and ended setting up a higher benchmark in the industry.

No list for animated movies of decade will not be complete without a handful of Pixar titles but in this small list crammed up for the space we have included only two Pixar titles.

3. Coco

This was the first Pixar movie based on any foreign culture. This movie won the hearts with it’s coming to the new age styled plot and good animations. The movie follows the story of Miguel and his love for the music and how he follows his heart in a family where music is doomed. This movie successfully tried to address a sensitive issue like death in a child friendly movie which is brilliant. The visually appealing portray of Land of the dead and amazing plot twist makes it a good pick for the best animated movie of decade list.

2. Inside out 2015

This movie was a place where our peculiar Human biology met the creative animation from the Pixar studios. This movie proved that no matter how much complex a theme is but it can be addressed by the innocence of a creative imagination let it be a very adult saying

If there’s one thing that’s certain in this life, it’s that change is inevitable. Sometimes it happens organically, other times it’s forced upon us.

This movie follows a eleven years old girl she is struggling to fit in a new city when her father gets a new job in a new city. This movie mostly take place in the head of this little girl. The animators did a good research about the human brain and changes and result was a whole world making in the head of the girl with characters dominated by an emotion and with it’s own set of rules and a time driven expansion of this world.

1. Spiderman: Into the web verse

Directors: Peter Ramsey, Bob Persichetti, Rodney Rothman

This is our last pick and arguably the best animated movie but the best in many categories for sure. This movie gives Miles Morales a cinematical debut. This movie gave us something distinctive and refreshing at the same time by blending the traditional animations and CGI animations by staying true to the comics.

It’s like a grand celebration of diversity and the history of the animations in a heroic tale of a troubled teen with a newly acquired legacy and friendship.
